School Holiday Camps

BOOK NOW

Woody's Sports Academy have slightly changed the dynamic of our school holiday camps to provide Woody's Multi Sports Day, to add to what is already in place during Woody's Freestyle Football Camps.  Camps are aimed at children aged between 5-12 and will have the usual elements that our soccer schools provide including learning the basic skills of passing, dribbling, running with the ball and shooting. There are a  lot of fun competitive coaching drills, as well as fun games to learn and adapt these skills into, including Foxes & Rabbits, Destroyer, Crabs and Starwars.

Two main breaks always take place where children can have a snack and lunch as well as many drinks breaks throughout the day.

After lunch, our second part of the day is usually mixed with a fun team game like football cricket or football rounders and then onto match play, where children all take part in small sided games. Trophy day takes place towards the end of the week, where a series of challenges are created to allow players to compete in the hope of finishing the week with some silverware; although everyone always comes away with something at the end of each course if behavior warrants it.

Multi Sports Day is a chance for our players to show their other sporting talents or simply learn some new sports, which they may not currently have much experience in. By doing this it brings an edge to the camp and dynamic which we feel children love. So whether it's Quick Cricket, Rounders, Dodge Ball, Athletics or the many other sports we could provide, we are sure that all involved will have a great experience.

It is very important to bring the correct clothing/footwear, in order to enjoy the camp to it's full potential and food for the necessary breaks throughout the day. Please see our check list below but note that it has been devised taking into consideration changes in weather and the use of different parts of the facility.

Private Coaching

BOOK NOW

With these one hour sessions our staff come to you and a facility you are comfortable with, we can also use our own facility but the option is yours. The aim of coaching in this way is to build up the participants skill base, improving individual efficiency and giving greater opportunity to succeed. These lessons are usually intense one on one sessions or with two players, but can be delivered with up to five players at any one time. Lessons are open to both girls and boys from the age of five upwards. From week to week basic skills are worked on so individuals become stronger technical players and include sessions to help passing, dribbling, running with the ball, shooting, shielding, tackling and many other parts of the game. From a football freestyle aspect, becoming a master of the ball is an important element to becoming a top flight player and all techniques/tricks learnt are transferable in some way to the actual game itself. Living proof of this would be the best players in the world today like Christiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho who are more then capable doing both.

Case Study:

We have had many success stories of players who have gone on to play at various clubs like Arsenal and Watford. A good example of a success story would be Jamie Lawrence who we private coached. He had interest from clubs like Arsenal, Fulham and QPR over the years but went on to learn his trade as an apprentice, within a youth development programme which is known as being one of the worlds leading. That club being Ajax! He is a player we are so proud to see grow and to have been a huge part of his development and looking forward to see him continue his dream of playing football at the highest possible level.

Are you football mad and love your tricks? Do you want to be a better technical football player? Well if so this camp is exactly what you need!!

At this camp you get the chance to bridge the gap between the amazing football freestyle skills which has been the craze since the turn of the millennium and the beautiful game itself. The common question always asked is ‘if you’re a good football freestyler are you a good football player’ and the answer to this is an easy one…….. Just because you are a good football freestyler doesn’t mean you are a good football player and equally, just because you are a good football player doesn’t mean you are a good football freestyler, but the fact remains that they do help each other and living proof of this is Mr Christiano Ronaldo, Mr Ronaldinho & the legend that is Mr Lionel Messi who make a good living through football but could also make a good living through football freestyle entertaining and these boys are three of the best players to ever walk this planet.

So don’t waste anymore time, join us to see how to learn these fantastic tricks and how they are a major help in match situations. Please note that this course is aimed at children aged between 7-16.

Special Needs Sessions

One Term, Many Definitions:

"Special Needs" is an umbrella underneath which a staggering array of diagnoses can be wedged. Children with special needs may have mild learning disabilities or profound cognitive impairment; food allergies or terminal illness; developmental delays that catch up quickly or remain entrenched; occasional panic attacks or serious psychiatric problems. The designation is useful for getting needed services, setting appropriate goals, and gaining understanding for a child. WSA have staff members that have undergone specialised training in order to deliver to groups which find themselves challenged in these ways.

Note. All prices inlcude £2.00 admin fee.

Some previous trips include:

Emirates Stadium (Home of Arsenal FC).

Wembley Stadium (National sports stadium).

Wimbledon (Tennis).

Cost would need to be discussed via email/phone call and payment for services can be made through chip & pin or by cheque.
